There is a player on third. The batter hits a fly ball, which is caught. The runner makes it to and touches home plate, but does not proceed to the bench. When the player touches home base she realises whats happened (or hears the coach calling her to run back to third base) and runs back to third base. She reaches third base before the fielders make the play. Is she safe? She was called out base on a rule that "a player cannot occupy two bases a one time."

- Runner is safe; if she returned to 3rd before a legal appeal was made IF she retouched home on the way back to 3rd.

- Runner is out; if she returned directly to 3rd before a legal appeal was made, on the appeal she would then be out for not retouching home plate on the way back to 3rd.

- Runner is out; if bases had been loaded and another runner now occupied 3rd and the bases were still loaded.
